New Bambu Lab X1 Color 3D Printer Launched on Kickstarter

A new 3D printer for simultaneous printing of several colors of filaments at once is presented on the Kickstarter crowdfunding site. In a short time, the Bambu Lab X1 3D printer project has collected more than 5 million USD and continues to actively collect orders. The peculiarity of the project is the advanced “stuffing”, high printing and acceleration speeds, additional accuracy control, including the elimination of vibrations and laser positioning, the “omnivorousness” of consumables.

Declared characteristics:
- Model: Bambu Lab X1
- Type: FDM CoreXY 3D printer with multi-feed (colour), up to 16 colors
- Control: 5″ display, 32-bit board, WiFi and smartphone app
- Accuracy: up to 7 µm
- Nozzle diameter: 0.4mm
- Build area: 256 x 256 x 256 mm
- Materials: TPU/ABS/PLA/PETG/ASA/PA/PC
- Printer dimensions: 389 x 389 x 457 mm
- Weight: ~ 14 kg
Thanks to the closed chamber inside, the printer can maintain temperatures up to 60 degrees. High printing accuracy is ensured by positioning using laser lidar.

A feature of the printer is the unusual design of the extruder and the hot part, which provides plastic mixing in 4×4 format (up to 16 colors at the same time). Measurement of temperature and humidity in the chamber is provided.

You can support the project at $799 for the Bambu Lab X1 model and $949 for the Bambu Lab X1 Carbone model (upgraded version in the extended package), with a retail price of $999 and $1199, respectively (excluding shipping costs). Shipments of the first batches are planned for July 2022.
