Someone will not be satisfied only with the location of the fingerprint scanner — not everyone wants to reach for the back panel. But this sensor works — lightning fast!

However, the design here is still the same frameless. A place for the camera was allocated using a teardrop-shaped cutout. It must be admitted that some users like it much more than the boring “monobrow”. Another important fact is that this device is endowed with an OLED display. This means perfect blacks and low power consumption.

However, the screen will not suit everyone. The thing is, it’s way too big. Its diagonal has been increased to 7.2 inches! Even with almost no bezels, this made the smartphone quite large. But even sadder is that the display resolution is 2244×1080 pixels. How could you be so stingy? Only 346 pixels per inch! This is not the level of such an expensive device!

The weight of the gadget, which reaches 232 g, also causes some criticism. But it is by no means connected with the display. It’s just that a heavy battery is installed here, the capacity of which is 5000 mAh. It is recharged via the USB Type-C port. As you might guess, connecting the charger is required once every two days, not more often.

Now on-screen fingerprint scanners have begun to become widespread. However, in the production of Huawei Mate 20X, it was decided to save money. Here, the fingerprint sensor should be looked for on the rear panel. There is also a triple chamber. It has excellent optics produced by Leica. As for the matrices, they have a resolution of 40, 20 and 8 megapixels. With the help of a triple camera, you can realize a variety of ideas. Want to fit more space into the frame? No problem! Do you want to blur the background? And the device copes with this task without difficulty! To access the Internet, LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11ac networks are used. Motorists will love the presence of a dual GPS chip, thanks to which navigation problems are virtually eliminated. To transmit sound to a wireless headset, Bluetooth 5.0 is used, supplemented by support for the aptX digital codec. Finally, there is also an NFC chip that helps in contactless payment. Yes, there is even an IR transmitter here, thanks to which you can replace a lost TV remote control with a smartphone!

In a word, this is another device, the shortcomings of which must be looked for under a microscope, if you forget about the size and resolution of the display. However, one of them comes to mind immediately. It’s the lack of waterproofing. No, it is here, but the IP53 certificate indicates that the device is not afraid only of rain and other splashes. It turns out that it is better not to take the device to the beach, to the pool or to the bathroom.

Such an expensive smartphone, it would seem, should have a top-end processor. However, the choice of the manufacturer OPPO RX17 Pro fell on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, which cost him not too much. It is possible that with such a chipset, the interface would regularly freeze. But that doesn’t happen. However, there is no need to be surprised at this, because the display built into here has a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. For a 6.4-inch diagonal, this is quite good, but not space either. By the way, the screen was created using AMOLED technology, so there are no questions about color reproduction, and in terms of power consumption, the user is unlikely to have at least some complaints. And the display boasts a built-in fingerprint scanner! It cannot be called ultra-fast, but you don’t need to reach for it with your finger, which would also waste time.

The smartphone supports all modern high-speed networks. Connecting to them is useful for posting photos and videos on social networks. And you will definitely want to share such impressive material! Photos are taken using a triple camera. The main module has only a 12-megapixel matrix, but the light hits it after passing through the aperture, opened to f / 1.5. One of the auxiliary modules offers a 20-megapixel sensor, but its aperture is only f / 2.6. As a result, the user gets the opportunity to create photos in a variety of genres. You can even take photos and videos somewhere in the pool, as the device received water protection according to the IP68 standard — the South Korean manufacturer assures that his creation will withstand immersion to a depth of one and a half meters. If the case takes place at sea, then do not forget to then wipe the device dry, including both of its connectors — otherwise the salt may cause some damage.

If we talk about the main camera, then it is double. At the same time, its second lens has a smaller viewing angle. Thanks to this, a 2x optical zoom is implemented here. This may well come in handy on country and foreign trips, when not every attraction can get as close as possible. It is also impossible not to notice that the main module is supplemented with optical image stabilization. The camera also shows itself well in terms of video shooting — the picture is written at a frequency of 30 frames / s and a resolution of 2160p. Light enters the main matrix through the f / 1.7 aperture, so you are unlikely to have problems even in the evening.

Samsung provides almost all of its smartphones with an AMOLED display. The Galaxy Note 8 is certainly no exception to the rule. The resolution of the 6.3-inch screen is 2960×1440 pixels. This is an awesome option! You will definitely appreciate it when you look at photos or the aforementioned 4K video.

It must be admitted that the smartphone turned out to be heavy. Its weight is 195 g. Under the body of this device is a top-end processor of its own production. There is also a variant with a chip from Qualcomm, but it is shipped to North America. There are also 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory hidden under the case. However, this applies only to the version we are considering. There are also options that have 128 and even 256 GB of internal storage. But they cost more. It seems that in this case the amount of memory is not too important, because you can easily insert a microSD memory card into this phablet.

Most of all, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 differs from smartphones from other manufacturers with a stylus support. And not just support! This accessory is included in the kit, it even has a separate socket in the case. The system is able to recognize many gradations of pressure with this stylus, which makes the phablet very popular with those who like to draw.

To access the global web, the gadget uses Wi-Fi 802.11ac and LTE-A modules of the 16th category. The product also supports Bluetooth 5.0, which is mainly needed for connecting a wireless headset. There is also an NFC-chip here, the main purpose of which does not need to be told. Well, ANT + can be considered a kind of bonus. But how good is he even now! Not everyone will like only its very large size. And the curved side edges of the display are now more annoying than pleasing. And just such a camera was received by the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium smartphone. I must say that this is the most expensive representative of our rating — over 60 thousand rubles are asked for it. Is it worth giving that kind of money? What other features does the built-in camera have? How powerful is the smartphone itself? Let’s find out the answers to all these questions.

This selfie smartphone can be used even on the beach, even in the pool. Do not take it only to the sauna. Of course, moisture protection according to the IP68 standard will save when the smartphone is immersed to a certain depth, but high temperatures with the same high humidity may well do harm. It should also be noted that the device is able to solve a variety of tasks. The Android 8.0 operating system and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor help him in this. The power reserve is more than enough to score over 250 thousand points in AnTuTu Benchmark. It turns out that on such a smartphone you can run any games, lowering the graphics settings is not required.

Under the body of the device are hidden 6 GB of RAM. There is also 64 GB of built-in storage. If you actively use the capabilities of the built-in cameras, then this will not seem enough. Luckily, there is a microSD card slot where you can transfer all your media files.

The high price tag of this device is not only due to the fact that Sony products are always expensive. The fact is that this is one of the few smartphones whose display has a full 4K resolution. But not all people need such a high resolution — this cannot be denied. Someone will definitely say that it would be better if the Japanese made a screen using a different technology. Agree, now when buying such an expensive smartphone, you expect to get a device with an AMOLED display. Here you will also find an IPS panel that is not very energy efficient. By the way, the screen is covered with a protective glass Gorilla Glass of the fifth generation, it is impossible to find fault with this.

The work of this gadget is provided by the top-end Snapdragon 845 processor. It was impossible to do without it, because you need to process a picture with a very high resolution. Far from every smartphone you can find a dual module, the matrices of which have a resolution of 19 and 12 megapixels. It should be noted that the main sensor has a size of 1 / 2.3 inches — like in compact cameras! In the dark, a 12-megapixel matrix is ​​​​used, with an aperture of f / 1.6. There is also optical stabilization, which will come in handy during video shooting. By the way, the video is recorded in 4K resolution. The only pity is that the frequency does not exceed 30 frames / s. As for shooting at a frequency of 960 fps, this mode is activated during an action scene. In this case, shooting lasts only a few seconds, and the resolution is reduced to Full HD. Solid limitations, but a few years ago it was generally impossible to imagine that smartphones would learn to shoot video for a few seconds at such a high frequency.

Everything is in order here and with the front camera. It also has optical stabilization, which allows you to comfortably stream directly from the street without using any other devices for this (although a monopod still does not hurt). The resolution of the matrix installed here is 13 megapixels, which is sufficient in most cases. The aperture is open to f / 2.0.

It remains to be added that the smartphone easily gains close to record scores in benchmarks. The other side of the coin is its weight — not everyone needs a 236-gram device. And what’s with that weight? After all, there is no particularly capacious battery here — a 3540 mAh battery is waiting for the buyer. Yes, and full-fledged water protection is unlikely to seriously affect this parameter.

In our ratings, mentions of LG smartphones are less and less common. Unfortunately, this South Korean company is going through hard times. More precisely, they are outlived by the mobile unit. His creations are more expensive than competitors, while offering less extensive features. For example, LG G7 ThinQ is priced at 40 thousand rubles. Should you buy this smartphone for selfies, if the models discussed above are sold for about the same money?

Let’s start with the fact that this device has dust and moisture protection according to the military standard MIL-STD 810G. If you want to regularly use your smartphone in the bathroom or pool, then this is a good choice. But practice shows that even with an IP68 certificate, the device performs well in water. Therefore, the military standard cannot be called a special advantage. As the operating system, which Android 8.0 is used here, does not cause particularly joyful feelings. It is possible that in the future there will be an upgrade to the «nine». But when will this «future» come?

However, let’s talk about the positive aspects of the device. First of all, the device surprises with its weight, which does not exceed 163 g. We are already accustomed to the fact that flagships are usually heavier. At the same time, the device can by no means be called small. On its front panel there was a place for a 6.1-inch display. The aspect ratio of 19.5:9 allows you to comfortably work with two applications at the same time. Well, the diagonal suggests that many buyers will use their smartphone to watch videos, less and less turning on the TV for this. There are no complaints about the resolution either, it is 3120×1440 pixels. Every square inch of this screen is made up of 563 pixels! In this regard, the device is second only to the display of the device from Sony discussed above. However, this LCD panel cannot be called ideal. The fact is that it was created using IPS technology. Agree, for that kind of money you want to get a device with an AMOLED screen, which is highly energy efficient.

The smartphone has a monobrow. For some, this will be a drawback, but many are already starting to get used to the curly cutouts at the top of the display. Formally, the device can be called frameless. But in fact, there are frames here — the screen occupies by no means a record percentage of the front panel area. But for a separate DAC and excellent stereo speakers, the gadget can only be praised. Listening to music is allowed with the help of headphones. Most importantly, anyone. Wired ones are easy to connect without any adapter, as there is a 3.5 mm audio jack. Also, no one interferes with listening to music in a wireless headset. Sound is transmitted to it via Bluetooth 5.0, and even when using the aptX HD codec.

As a processor, the eight-core Snapdragon 845 is used here, which has already been mentioned more than once in this rating. Even under the body of the device are 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory. The volume of the latter could be a serious drawback, if not for the microSD card slot. In the camera settings, it is recommended to immediately enable video recording to external media.

You are unlikely to find fault with the rear camera. She has two lenses. Under one of them is a matrix, the size of which is 1/3 inch — this is as close as possible to the sensors that are equipped with compact cameras. Also, the main module has an f / 1.6 aperture. It is only thanks to him that the background is blurred very beautifully, plus electronics help this. Also, such a wide-open aperture contributes to high-quality shooting in low light conditions. Not forgotten by the manufacturer and the optical stabilization system. Well, as for the resolution, it is the same for both matrices — 16 megapixels.

On the front panel of the device is the front camera lens. Its main advantage is a wide field of view. Not only you, but also your soulmate or even all friends and colleagues will get into the frame. The aperture of this camera is also very decent, the aperture is open to f / 1.9. Well, the resolution is 8 megapixels. Do not be afraid of such a low value. But all the pixels have a large physical size! And why do you need high-resolution pictures if they all go exclusively to social networks?

Perhaps the device deserves the money spent on it. Although it is better to look for a modification that has a slightly larger amount of RAM and permanent memory. At one time, Xiaomi spurred many manufacturers to create frameless smartphones. This was done by releasing a model called Mi Mix. In the future, she received several extensions, and each time the screen occupied an increasing area of ​​​​the front panel. When designing Xiaomi Mi Mix3, which was included in our rating, the Chinese even abandoned the figured cutout for the front camera. The lenses are hidden inside the smartphone! To access the front camera, you need to move the two halves of the device relative to each other. In a word, Xiaomi brings back the fashion for sliders!

Immediately, we note one obvious design flaw. Sliding halves did not allow to endow the device with full water protection. It turns out that this model is not afraid only of rain. If the smartphone is under water, it is unlikely that it will continue to function stably. The rest of the gadget does not cause any particular complaints. The mechanism is working properly. And there is no doubt that it will last for many years.

The ninth version of Android, the most recent at the moment, is used as the operating system. The software is powered by the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, mentioned more than once in the course of this article. It is not difficult for him to run games, no matter how advanced graphics they have. The user will also be able to keep an arbitrarily large number of applications in the background, for which 6 GB of RAM should be thanked. Also under the body of the smartphone are hidden 128 GB of permanent memory. This is quite a normal volume, even taking into account the lack of a slot for a microSD card.

The image here is displayed on an AMOLED display, the diagonal of which reaches 6.39 inches. When viewing a movie or photos, you can literally enjoy rich colors. Perfect blacks, low power consumption — all these definitions correspond to this screen as closely as possible. Its resolution is 2340×1080 pixels. Thumbs up. Especially when you consider that the device is not sold for 45-50 thousand rubles.

Well, what are the characteristics of the same aforementioned front camera? First, its modulus is double. The main matrix has a 24-megapixel resolution. This is more than enough to create detailed images, which can then be printed in any large format. As for the auxiliary matrix, its resolution is only 2 megapixels. However, its task is to help the system blur the background, nothing more. Secondly, the front camera has a very wide aperture. This allows you to shoot even in the evening. However, do not hope for an ideal result — not the best optics and the small physical size of the pixels affect.

Paradox. The rear camera has a lower resolution, but at the same time it shows a more interesting result. The secret of this lies not only in the larger size of the main matrix (here there are also two), which is 1/2.55 inch. The manufacturer gave the lens an aperture of f / 1.8. In short, the camera does not lack light. By the way, the second module here is quite working. Its lens has a smaller angle of view. So, the user is waiting for a double optical zoom. However, it produces pictures of not the best quality. The lack of optical stabilization is to blame for this, which is why the system has to make the shutter speed as fleeting as possible. Also, this module suffers from the size of the matrix — it is 1/3.4 inches.

We can safely say that this smartphone has both advantages and disadvantages. It is felt that the manufacturer had to save. However, the number of positive aspects here is very large. For example, one cannot help but rejoice at the presence of an NFC chip. Usually, Xiaomi forgets about it, since in China, contactless payments work on a different system.
