A set of PLA plastic for a 3D printer. 20 colors x 10 meters, bar diameter 1.75mm

Good day. Today I decided to write a small review on a set of PLA plastic for a 3D printer. I have a Tronxy P802 3D printer, I have owned it for more than a year, I have already reprinted a bunch of all sorts of parts, studied various programs for slicing, as well as how to “draw” models myself in STL or G-code format suitable for printing. The most popular of course is black and white plastic, which is bought in large reels of 300+ meters (it’s cheaper this way). But sometimes, when you print some kind of craft or you need a part of a certain color, it will pick up colored plastic. It is clear that buying 300 meters of each color will go broke. It is for such cases that there are small skeins of 5 — 10 meters. Of course, 10 meters is sooo small, but diluting black and white crafts is enough.

Find out the current price for a set of PLA plastic: 20pcs x 10 meters 1.75mm

Here in such bobbins, plastic of 300 — 370 meters is usually supplied, depending on the manufacturer, the weight of one coil is about 1 kg. For the price it all depends on the quality. I usually take Gold Camel for $29. I like it because it does not «flow» like some cheap options.

The only thing that bothered me was that the set of plastic was intended for 3D pens. That is, the bar diameter is 1.75 mm, the same as in the printer. But usually cheaper plastic is made for 3D pens, since accuracy is not as important there as in a printer. In the end, I ordered and did not regret it. The plastic came in a bag, inside each skein in a separate bag.

Produced by Sunlu, the weight of the set is about 620 grams. In a set of 20 colors of 10 meters = 200 meters. That is, at a price per 1 kg, almost the same thing will come out with a reel of the same color. Temperature for PLA 190 — 220 degrees. I print at 205 degrees and the table is 50 degrees. The main thing on the first 2 layers is not to turn on the airflow, otherwise the craft will not attach to the table and may come off in the process — it will be a pity for time and plastic.

Let’s go over the colors that are included. Brown, blue, lilac and purple.

Yellow, turquoise, green and luminescent plastic (in Russian: glows in the dark).

This luminescent plastic is a very interesting thing — it almost immediately went to key rings, the children are just delighted By the way, I only realized at night that our plastic is not just white, I didn’t even know that this happens.

Light green, yellow, white, red. It would be better if instead of white they put another luminous one.

Light green, dark gray, orange and transparent.

Well, the last part. Light grey, black, purple and gold.

As a test, I decided to print a small candy basket using as many colors as possible. Below are some demonstration videos on printing, it will rather be of interest to those who have never seen how printing is going on.

By the way, keep in mind that changing the color is not just putting another skein. It is also necessary to drive 2-3 cm so that the old plastic passes through the extruder (nozzle), it is also better to cut off the end at a very large angle so that it is easier to get into the extruder. Also, part goes to the «trial» first layer.

As a result, in 35 minutes I printed all the details.

A couple of minutes to clean the burrs and 5 minutes to glue.

In a good way it would be printed on a larger scale, but for the test it will do. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the plastic. For the price of a reel, we get a set of skeins of different colors. Pleasantly surprised by the luminescent plastic. Ideally, I would buy a set of such skeins of 50 meters, but so far I have not seen it anywhere. Definitely recommend to buy, all the best.
