How to Detect the Cause of Blue Screen Error in Vista
So I have previously talked about how I had a problem with the Hssdrv.sys driver associated with hotspot shield. Well, pinpointing that specific problem wasn't easy since after uninstalling the software, I still got Blue screen errors and the blue screen went by so fast that I wasn't able to note which drivers were causing the problem. Anyways, Steve Glenddinning has a very useful tutorial on how to find out which driver is causing the problematic blue screen error.
The guide was really helpful and I was able to use it in troubleshooting my brother's laptop. The problem on that one were outdated epson drivers and hp drivers. So before installing and using a new (or old hardware), be sure to update the drivers first to be sure that it's compatible with Vista and you won't be having any Blue screen errors in the future.
