Toshiba to Release Players for downloaded movies on SD cards

Okay, so what is up with Toshiba? It's as if they're still sour graping over the lost of HD DVD to Blu-ray. Apparently, Toshiba is backing a company called MOD system which offers movie downloads through memory cards, and USB flash disks through internet connected booths in retail stores.

And as if backing them up isn't enough, Toshiba is expected to release prototype players at CES next week which touts SD cards slot so you can play your downloaded movies. Whether these players would be stand-alone SD card players or integrated into exisiting DVD decks, we don't know.
