Geeky Beds

So, if you just can't bring yourself to sleep on normal beds even if you've already browsed the large selection over at time4sleep, then maybe you're not really looking for an ordinary bed. Here are just the top three geeky beds that you might be interested in from Engadget.com

The Audiophile's Bed

This isn't something you can buy right out of the store but rather, you have to install the Sonic Impact's BM101 speakers beneath your mattresses. The speaker panels are designed to go between the mattress and the box spring so that tunes would seem to "emanate" from your bed. You have to dish out around $200 to $400 for the speakers but what your bed would look like would be up to you.

A Home Theater Fanatic's Dream Bed

If you're already rich enough to have spend thousands of dollars on your home theater system, then why not dish out a few thousand more for the Starry Night Bed? First seen at the CES 2008, the Starry Night Bed boasts dual adjustable mattresses, remote-controlled with temperature control and a very high tech sounding "anti-snore" technology (who wants to bet that this is just a fancy name for rolled up socks that you can muffle the snorer with?). There's an embeded 1080p HD projector, WiFi, iPod dock, four subwoofers and tweeters, and Media Center with 1.5TB of hard disk space. Whew! And the price you have to pay? $20,000 to $50,000. Good luck!

David Copperfield's Bed

This is exactly the kind of bed that I think David Copperfield and David Blane will have. If you're familiar with those floating clocks, this million dollar magnetic bed probably runs on the same logic. This floating bed is designed by Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars. And the price for you to sleep on a floating bed? About $1.5 million dollars.
