Convert Streaming Videos
Some people are finding software to download streaming videos unnecessary these days. It’s because popular media players and smartphones already have built-in WiFi that allows them to watch streaming videos from YouTube directly on their device. However, not all videos are available on YouTube. Just the other day, I was looking for a particular episode of Saturday Night Live but it seems that YouTube is blocking these videos so I had to go to NBC’s site directly to watch the episode and let me tell you—it…is…SLOW! Anyways, that’s why I think there are still some use for software that can download streaming media especially for owners of old iPods, Zunes, and other portable media players which do not have the benefit of a built-in WiFi and YouTube application.
This is where this very useful application called Jaksta Streaming Media Recorder and Converter comes in. Jaksta promises to download videos from MySpace, YouTube, MTV, NBC, AOL Video, etc, and save them straight to your PC. You can also have the option of converting these videos into file formats compatible with your portable media player. You can download a free trial version but the trial version will only let you download 75% of the video from other sites but 100% from YouTube. 75% is still watchable especially if you’re only looking to watch a particular scene.
