Bluetooth Dongles
One of the great things about a customized PC is that you can do any specifications you want or copy the specifications of a known PC manufacturer such as Dell, HP or Acer at a very discounted price. The downside is that your PC design is limited to the ATX casing or micro computer casing and these casings don’t have built-in card readers or Bluetooth so you have to buy unsightly card readers and Bluetooth dongles that will protrude from your PC. Though your choices are limited, here are just some of the best Bluetooth dongles so you can narrow your choices:
Asus Bluetooth 2.0 Dongle

The Asus Bluetooth 2.0 dongle has a printed antenna and is Bluetooth 2.0 complaint. The radio frequency is around 2.400-2.4835 GHz, has a range of up to 100 meters and transfer rates of up to 3.0 Mbps. This dongle has a blue blinking light that tells you when it’s connected, however, this is not a plug and play device and you have to install the drivers.
Cirago Micro Bluetooth Dongle

The Cirago Micro Bluetooth Dongle is Bluetooth 2. compliant with 0 EDR (v 1.2). Radio frequency is 2.402 - 2.4835 GHz and only has a range of 10 meters but that's okay considering it only has a dimensions of .7 x .05 x .01. This one has a cute design and won’t protrude as much on your PC. The disadvantage is that it only has a range of 10 meters of open space.
AVM BlueFritz USB 2.0

The AVM BlueFritz has dimensions of 5.5 cm (W) x 2.2 cm (D) x 1.1 cm (H) and weighs only 12g. Data transfer rate is around 723 Kbps and has a maximum range of 100 m (in open space). The AVM BlueFritz 2.0 has a very good design plus, aside from being a Bluetooth dongle, it has an added bonus of connecting your PCs to ADSL, ISDN, etc. You have to download the latest avm bluetooth drivers though.
