Fibre Optic Hair Extensions

Who says geeks don’t have style? Well, the fibre optic hair clip is the hair extension of all hair extensions. This would definitely solidify the geek status of any wearer. Before we go to this fibre optic hair clip, being the fashion victim that I am, I was initially clueless as to what hair extensions were. I originally thought that like the fibre optic hair clip, you just clip it on your hair to make your hair look longer but then I’ve heard of stories of people going to the salon in order to get hair extensions and I was like, WTF? Are these people so clueless that they don’t even know how to put a clip on their head?!!!
Turns out I’m the one who’s clueless as a little bit of asking around and Googling told me that the popular “hair extensions” or what the stars usually do is that they bond these synthetic hair or sometimes REAL hair (if you’re filthy rich like Paris Hilton) onto their head. These hairs already have a keratin like substance that acts as a glue to bond the hair tips together when heated. Sounds like a hard job and from what I’ve gathered, pretty expensive too. Costs of hair extensions is anywhere between $10-$2000.
Anyways, going back to this fibre optic hair clip, I’m sure not even the geekiest of geeks would think of bonding this thing onto their hair. It may be nice for a night party but bonding it? No way. The Fibre Optic Hair clip has around 60 fibre optic strands with length ranging from 10cm to 35cm. Another reason why you can’t bond this to your head is that the clip houses the batteries, LED lights and switch and unless you want to be bionic woman/man, bonding is DEFINITELY out of the question. Walking Christmas tree anyone?
