Online shopping has become very popular in the past year. In fact, last year, it was estimated that more people bought their Christmas gifts from online stores. While online shopping has become popular in Europe and North America, Canadians mostly do their online shopping from American websites. Maybe it’s due to the fact that there are Canadian online retailers or maybe it’s because most stores in the US already offer shipping to Canada, that some Canadian retailers feel that they already have stiff competition. Plus the fact of course that American online stores offer cheaper prices compared with Canadian stores.

However, with the emergence of Canada based online stores such as Amazon, Tiger Direct, eBay, etc, more and more Canadians are looking to local retailers for their online shopping needs so we could probably see a boost on Canadian online shopping in the months to come.
