Comparing Web Hosts

The Godaddy banner on top of my blog is kinda irritating me so I’m in the market for some web hosting accounts. I’m thinking of sticking with Godaddy and upgrading to a paid hosting since migrating blogs will be a pain if done with another hosting provider, however, Quickblogcasts’ servers are sometimes too slow, I guess that’s why I’m too lazy updating my blog every so often since at times I have to wait around 15 minutes just for QuickBlogcast to load. So much for “quick”.

Well, webhostinggeeks.com has a variety of web hosting providers which they rank by rating. Their hosting comparison chart is pretty straightforward and you could easily compare the price and features of one hosting provider over the other. The problem is with the reviews. While there are many user reviews, you don’t really know whether these reviews are from people affiliated with the company or from people affiliated with their competitors who just want to bring their competition down.

I guess that is true even if you visit forums and other review sites. It’s a dog eat dog world in the internet and some companies would resort to a smear campaign against their competitors just to up their sales. I guess the best solution would be just to try their services out; hopefully some web host would have a trial period.
